African Landing Commemoration: Embracing Our History and Our Culture
On August 26th, the William Tucker 1624 society had our annual African Landing Commemoration This year our theme was “Embracing Our History and Our Culture.” The special guest was Eola L. Dance, Superintendent of the Fort Monroe National Monument. More than 400 years later we commemorate and embrace our history in America. We’re learning more and more of the wealth of knowledge that our ancestors brought to this country. The knowledge of farming, the skills of creativity, the perseverance through challenging times, yet we survived!
